Many believe that the Goat Rocks Wilderness is one of the top prizes of the Washington Cascades. It certainly is a view extravaganza. Hike out-and-back, hike a loop, or scramble Old Snowy Mountain or Ives Peak in the Goat Rocks Wilderness. Trips ranging from 8-16 miles and to Snowgrass Flat, Goat Lake, and Hawkeye Point are all challenging hikes that reward with wildflowers and views.
Backcountry Skiing
Snowking Mountain is a strenuous, 12 mile backcountry ski tour with 5,000 feet in elevation gain. The trail follows a ridge up to the peak. There is high avalanche potential.
Climbing & Scrambling
A great early season snow scramble. With 12 miles of travel and 6,800 feet of elevation gain, this is a long and challenging scramble.
Day Hiking
Hike 10 miles and 2,400 feet of elevation gain on the Pacific Crest Trail to visit an abandoned fire lookout site south of Stampede Pass.

Soda Springs is a 20-site rustic car campground on the banks of the Bumping River, ideal for group tent camping.
Urban Adventure & Urban Walking
This urban trail is and 1.1 mile one way with no elevation gain. It extends from Royal Brougham to South Forest Street on the east side of the Seattle's SODO rail and bus route. There are murals painted by international artists exploring the theme of movement and progress along the path.
Located along the Sol Duc River, the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground is on the "edge of the backcountry in the heart of the Olympic National Park" with hot spring pools and access to many hiking trails.

Climbing
A Grade III, 5.6, 9-pitch rock climb in Red Rock Canyon near Las Vega, Nevada. It's one of the best moderate rock climbs in he country.

Scrambling
Also known as "Fish Eagle Peak," Solomon is a quiet peak up the Salmon La Sac road with great vistas to the east and west ends of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. The South Scatter Creek trail gets few visitors because there are no easy destinations, but Solomon is a moderate and worthy scramble.
Day Hiking & Scrambling
Songbird Peak is also know as MMM and Midmountain Mountain. It an easy to moderate scramble from Change Creek which is a good hike on its own with views from Hall Point. A short rock scramble at the top gives good views of Mount Teneriffe and Green Mountain to the west, Mailbox Peak to the north and Snoqualmie Pass to the east. Easter Island, Machu Picchu, and Greenway Mountains are all good destinations on their own or combined with any of the other peaks.

Scrambling
Scramble to Point 5273 as it is labelled int he Green Trails and USGS maps and visit seldom-seen alpine lakes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Do this in winter to avoid the brush after the snow melts.
