Backpacking & Day Hiking
With a long desolate beach, stunning views of the ocean and the Point of the Arches rock features, Shi Shi Beach is one of the most beautiful locations in Washington. Though an easy-to-moderate day hike of 8 miles and 200 feet of elevation gain, this is often best done as a weekend backpacking trip because of the long drive most will have.

Day Hiking & Scrambling
Shriner Peak is a strenuous, 8.4 mile round trip day hike with 3,400 feet of elevation gain. The trail is a steady steep climb through forests, burns and south facing meadows, up a ridge to the historic Shriner Peak lookout tower. In winter and early spring this is a scramble.

Backpacking, Day Hiking & Scrambling
Hike a trail in the Olympics that was never officially built, but is nevertheless fairly easy to follow. It's brushy in places and climbs steeply along Silver Creek to Silver Lakes with access to a scramble of Hawk Peak. It's 10 miles round trip with 1,700 feet of elevation gain.
Day Hiking & Trail Running
An Oregon state park with more than 35 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The most famous trail is the Trail of Ten Falls, a National Recreation Trail that features ten waterfalls. Although some of the park's trails welcome leashed dogs, the Trail of Ten Falls is mostly closed to dogs.
Scrambling
Just above Elizabeth Lake, this is the high point of all the ridges that border the Crystal Mountain ski resort. Views are superb. This is a good introductory snow scramble, but can only be done after the ski area closes.
Sea Kayaking
A lake in Snohomish Country that can be accessed from two Everett Parks, Hauge Homestead and Thornton A. Sullivan. It's a great location for sea kayaking practice.
Day Hiking
A moderate, 5.6 mile round trip hike with 1,900 feet of elevation gain. Hike along the Pacific Crest Trail from Windy Pass to a junction and then on a path to the rocky summit.
Situated on the banks of the scenic White River in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and just outside Mount Rainier National Park's northeast entrance, this campground offers visitors stunning scenery and access to a many recreational activities.

Silver Star Mountain via Silver Star Creek is a strenuous but easy climb.
Climbing
A steep climbers trail leads 4,400 feet up to Burgundy Col, then a rising climb on the glacier. Scramble to the summit. A fun, easy climb with views north into the Paysaten Wilderness. Climb to col can be grueling in the summer heat. Times: 2-4 hr trailhead to camp, 5-6 hr camp to summit.
Cross country ski dry, high-elevation snow on Canada's largest network of groomed trails at Sovereign Lake Nordic Club and SilverStar Mountain Resort near Vernon in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley
Day Hiking
A moderate, 5 mile hike with 1,000 feet of elevation gain, this peak is a favorite within the Chinook Trail System, which connects the east and west sides of the Columbia River Gorge.
Climbing
A technically easy climb, but long hike/bike in the Monte Cristo area, the Southeast Route on Silver Tip Peak is a Grade I and Class 4 climb with 3,900 feet of elevation gain.
Scrambling & Backcountry Skiing
Scrambling all three of these peaks is a challenging 12 miles and 4,000 feet of elevation gain. Scramble one or any pair for a moderate outing. Enjoy expansive views of the Snoqualmie Pass area from all of these peaks.
