A park in Snohomish County with an easy, three-mile round trip walk from parking lot to beach and return on a nature trail. Lovely views of the Olympic Mountains can be seen while walking through second-growth forest with birds in their native habitat and near a stream with fish.
Scrambling & Climbing
A scramble to an overlook of the Summerland area in Mount Rainier National Park. It's the camping area for climbs of Little Tahoma, Whitman Crest, and K Spire. Travel through mature forest, an open valley, and the subalpine meadows of Summerland with spectacular views of Mount Rainier and Little Tahoma, and then to an even more spectaular highpoints surrounded by crevassed glaciers.
The Mountaineers oldest winter sports resort, located approximately 60 miles east from Seattle off of I-90 near Stampede Pass, the Meany Lodge provides a warm family environment for all. With room, board and hot showers, it's perfect for winter and summer adventures alike.
Cross-country Skiing
We will ski from Crystal Springs 7 miles roundtrip with 700 feet of elevation gain and arrive at Meany Lodge in time for a hot lunch. We will explore some of the nordic trails at Erling Stordahl and the sled dog trails. Most of the route is intermediate but there is a steep section closer to Meany Lodge with most of the elevation gain. This can be done skis off if need be.
Climbing
A Grade III alpine ice climb in the heart of the North Cascades.
Scrambling
Scramble a peak south of the North Cascades highway, west of Rainy Pass. It's summit offers splendid views of North Cascades peaks.
Urban Adventure & Urban Walking
Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens, a nonprofit garden open to the public, encompasses ten acres of display and educational gardens enveloped by 43 acres of woodland preserve with just over 4 miles of nature trails.
Day Hiking
A moderate/strenuous 9 mile hike with 2650 ft in elevation gain. The trail features a walk under I-90, Denny Creek waterslide, two waterfalls and a grand view of Chair Peak with a crystal water lake at it's base.
Day Hiking & Trail Running
A good beginner hike with only 100ft of elevation gain and 6 miles round trip. Get out in nature and see some remains of an old coal mine; great for kids!

Sea kayak along the shore, or circumnavigate Seattle's Mercer Island on Lake Washington near Seattle. Enjoy viewing some incredible homes.

This facility has one meeting and one conference room that can be used for committee meetings or lectures for courses. This branch is part of the King County Library System.

Easy 2-3 mile walk with no elevation gain in the Mercer Slough Nature Park area with boardwalks, bridges, wetland areas, and many lichen on the fence surrounding the blueberry farm.
Scrambling
Merchant Peak is a scramble of 6 miles with 3,900 feet of gain.
Day Hiking & Snowshoeing
A moderate 6 mile day hike or snowshoe up to a small alpine lake in the heart of the Central Cascades near Stevens Pass.
Canyoning
A tributary of the American River located east of Mount Rainier National Park in the Wenatchee National Forest. This rarely-run canyon features the scenic 150-foot Mesatchee Falls and 5 to 6 rappels. It is rated v3a3 III in mid-to-late summer.
