Climbing
Jack Mountain via the South Face is a challenging Class 4 climb.
This civil war-era structure, constructed in 1859, is the oldest residence in Lacey and one of the oldest homes in Thurston County. It is managed by the City of Lacey Parks and Recreation and has space available for rent. It is perfect for hosting private events, banquets, meetings, or teaching skills in a classroom environment.

Day Hiking, Urban Walking & Urban Adventure
An easy year-round four-mile urban hike with 174 feet of elevation gain through 147 acres owned by the City of Mukilteo. This hike takes you through a former WW II defensive barrier and over a stream into a wildlife habitat filled with flowering currants, bleeding hearts, black-tailed deer, birds, with open spaces and water views. The hiking trails are shared and intersect with a series of mountain bike trails.
Day Hiking, Urban Adventure & Urban Walking
A small pretty park with picnicking and camping areas located on the north end of Hartstine Island in Mason County near Olympia. It can be accessed by boat or by road. To extend your day, consider combining it with trails in Harstine Island State Park or Fudge Point State Park.

Moderate/ Challenging, 14 miles, 2,500 ft elevation gain. An exploration of the southern section of the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park through some of the most magnificent redwood stands in the world.

Urban Walking & Urban Adventure
In the Beacon Hill neighborhood, Jefferson Park is the sixth largest park in Seattle. It offers unparalleled views of the Duwamish River, the city and the Olympic Mountains. Flanked by trees the path system in this park was inspired by the Olmsteds.
Day Hiking
A moderate 3.5 mile round trip hike with 1,600 ft elevation gain to the former Jefferson Ridge fire lookout site. The entire route is lined with rhododendrons and spectacular views.
Sailing

Day Hiking & Scrambling
The highest point along Teanaway Ridge, this route is mostly on trail with a short scramble at the end. It's 7.4 miles and 1,950 feet of elevation gain. Enjoy views of the many Teanaweay area peaks.
Backcountry Skiing & Scrambling
A strenuous approach along Henry Creek to the large north facing basin of Jim Hill, recently made less difficult by clear-cutting near Highway 2. The best skiing is in Jim Hill's north bowl.

Johannesburg Mountain via the Southeast Arête is a Grade II, class 3 or 4 climb.

Packrafting
Located in the central Brooks Range of Alaska, the John River flows from Anaktuvuk Pass for 145 miles to the Koyukuk River near Bettles. This wild, arctic river has an easy approach. While a trip can be done from village to village, it is alos possible to fly into Hunt Fork Lake or Sixty Mile Creek.
Day Hiking
A 2-mile level walk at the Johns River Estuary and 2 miles along Bottle Beach. Many birds and the resident elk herd may be viewed at the wildlife area, and remnants of a historic sight are visible from Bottle Beach.
