We walked The Arboretum , Interlaken Park , Volunteer Park , and Louisa Boren Park . The views of the Cascades , Union Bay , Lake Washington , downtown Seattle , Space Needle and Queen Ann were enjoyable. The early Seattle history is evident in the neighborhoods we walked . We also went to the top of the Water Tower and enjoyed the views.
A cold-weather bikepack loop that followed the flowing singletrack trail of the Olympic Adventure Route to Joyce-Piedmont Road, then to Salt Creek Recreation Area. Following an overnight camp, a return to the trailhead via the singletrack of the Bunker Ridge Trail and scenic rural roads.
We ascended beaten trails and abandoned roads up onto the road switchbacking up Olallie Mountain before having lunch and turning back.
Good weather and a good group to snowshoe to Kendall Peak Lakes with.
A great introduction/re-introduction to winter scrambling for everyone with just the right amount of challenge
Great day out in excellent early season conditions to explore the Kendall Trees/Knob/Stump area.
Found a safe place to snowshoe on an extreme weather day. It was hard work breaking trail, the group were good sports and we had fun in a winter wonderland.
Great educational experience.
The snow conditions are great currently. Groomed and tracked.
Trip was organized well, all members present, we shared good conversation and camaraderie.
its a very nice experience!! Everything went well.
An enjoyable powder day in the Crystal backcountry.
We practiced our terrain reading, trail breaking and steep skinning skills on a lovely trip to Artist Point in perfect weather.
A pedestrian venue made quite challenging (and beautiful) by recent storms. A great workout with lots of deep snow wallowing (even in snowshoes).
A fine winter paddle on the Columbia south of Kalama with sunny skies and moderate winds. Lots of wildlife including Sandhill Cranes, Egrets, Eagles, Deer and lots of ducks and geese.
We observed glacial landforms at three different locations: the 12th Ave bridge over I-90 north of Beacon Hill, the gravel quarry in Issaquah and First Rattlesnake Ledge.
A new park for many and an excellent day to test our rain gear!
We had a great Christmas Lights Paddle this evening on Utsalady Bay. As predicted by NOAA and Windy wind and waves settled down by launch time and continued to improve by the end of the activity. We had half a dozen compliments on our little light show. Most homes along the waterfront were dark so we were turned back early.
