Day Hiking
Three miles of easy interconnected hiking trails meander through the forest and meadows in southeast Washington. The pine forest offers a dramatic backdrop to meadows filled with wildflowers and views that stretch into Oregon that is perfect for naturalists and photographers to explore the beautiful world of the Blue Mountains and Grand Ronde River.
Canyoning
A half-day intermediate canyon in the Skokomish River valley. This canyon features some technical whitewater that is easy to navigate at moderate flows. A rooster tail on the first rappel may indicate the chute sequence will contain advanced whitewater challenges. This canyon is rated v3a4II mid-season (early July) and v3a3II in mid to late summer.
Day Hiking & Sea Kayaking
Formed by the forks of the South and North Skagit Rivers, Fir Island is located on the east side of Skagit Bay between the towns of Conway and La Conner. Great location for hiking or sea kayaking.

Hike 5.2 miles round trip and 2,200 feet of elevation gain to Fir Mountain in eastern Washington's Okanogan Highlands. Enjoy views through open forest of rock outcrops and surrounding mountains along the ridge. The last bit to the former lookout site is a bit of a scramble.

Scrambling
Beautiful mountain and sea views on a very strenuous winter scramble of 12 mi and 6,000 feet that visits First Top as well as Point 4795 above Lake Angeles. This shared outing is made possible by utilizing portions of the Heather Park Trail as well as the Lake Angeles/Kalhane Ridge Trail which both begin at the Heart of the Hills parking area.

Hike an easy four-mile trail with 450 feet of elevation gain through a historical state park. The hike passes a bubbling geyser, along the Green River through a colorful forest, and over a forested ridge to a picnic area and lunch spot. The park has several other amenities including areas to view salmon spawning October through December.

Backpacking
A moderate backpack along the southern end of the spectacular Rockwall Trail in the Canadian Rockies. It's 13 miles round trip with 2,350 feet of elevation gain to Floe Lake camp or a 10-mile loop via Numa Creek. From Floe Lake consider day hikes to Numa Pass and beyond. Indulge your photography or painting while enjoying stunning landscapes with towering Vermilion Range peaks among golden alpine larches in early autumn or expansive wildflower meadows in mid-summer.

Florence Peak is a moderately strenuous but not particularly challenging rock scramble, with over 3,500 feet of elevation gain in less than 4 miles. It is a popular trip in Mount Rainier National Park, with good views of "the Mountain" and other Carbon River area peaks.

The traverse of Florence Peak & Tolmie Peak is a two day scramble of approximately 16 miles with approximately 6,000 feet of gain.

Florence Peak in winter is a strenuous but straightforward trip, mainly on trail, with 3,760 feet of elevation gain in just 4 miles. It is in the Carbon River area of Mount Rainier National Park, with the off-trail portion following the open ridge line of Alki Crest.
