Lovely evening for a walk in the woods
This is a one-way walk , starting at the Washington Park Playfields , and ending at Stan Sayres Park . We toured many Parks on this walk , with great views .
With just the right amount of switchbacks, the 7º uphill grade is good toning up for spring & summer hiking (btw that's about the same grade as Mt Si, considered to be 8º)
This is an interesting and strenuous snowshoe route from Greenwater trailhead to the PCT, Government Meadow, and Naches Pass. Camping is available at a number of meadows along the route, particularly between 3.5 and 3.8 miles. Image is Mike Urich Cabin at Goverment Meadow.
Our moderate conditioning hike turned into more workout than anticipated. One person said, "I'm feeling muscles in my arms that I didn't think were part of this conditioning routine".

An exploratory winter scramble in the NE corner of the Olympic Mountains. Without doubt, the best all around venue for rhododendron appreciation, full body bushwhack brush up, dramatic views, and wintertime workout (~11 miles, 4000’ gain). [Lead photo by Jesse Bengtsson]
This is a pretty route with lake views to a waterfall viewpoint and not very challenging. Route is shared with snowmobilers.
