Note from Kayak Leader Doug Palm on 8/5: since the Minimum Standards were revised to read "appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally," he worries that the wording of the default requirement is lax or might convey such an attitude to the participants unintentionally. Feels that it does not model best practice and gives those looking at trips on the Go Guide/Activity page the impression they can wear whatever they like. He suggests that the issue be revisited at the next sea kayak summit. Forwarded an email from one participant who looked at the language and asked him if it meant she could wear a wet suit instead of a dry suit.
