CANCELED - Ocean City State Park Car Camp

Enjoy a delightful coastal weekend, with a 4 mile loop hike around Damon Point on Saturday, a car camp at popular Ocean City State Park on Saturday night and on Sunday a 4 mile day hike to the end of the sandspit and back at Griffiths-Priday State Park in nearby Copalis Beach.  After a camp dinner Saturday evening, we will build a campfire, if fire regulations permit it, and roast smores.  Sunday morning we will have a camp breakfast together, break camp and caravan the short distance to Griffiths-Priday State Park to hike to the end of the sandspit and back.  Both hikes provide abundant opportunities to view wildlife.  Following the Sunday hike, we have the option of a group hot lunch at the popular Green Lantern Tavern, where table service is provided in their secluded back yard, if we need to eat outdoors.  If the covid 19 danger has ended, we can eat indoors.

Registration for the car camp is by registering for the two related day hikes, which are posted under DAY HIKES on the web site.  Anyone registering for one day hike must also register for the other one, and participate in the Saturday night encampment.  Camp fees will be shared equitably and collected by cash or check at the start of the Saturday hike.

This car camp is being scheduled three times this summer.  The other dates are June 19-20  and September 11-12.  You can register for any or all of them in the same manner.
