CANCELED - Columbia Gorge Car Camp

Explore six of the spectacular waterfalls of the Columbia Gorge, camping Saturday night at Eagle Creek Campground.

Meet at 11:30 AM Saturday at Eagle Creek Campground, reached by heading south on I-5 and I-205, west on I-84, taking Exit 44 to Eagle Creek Campground.  There we set up camp, have a picnic lunch and caravan to the Dry Creek Falls Trailhead at the south end of the Bridge of the Gods.  Then we hike to Dry Creek Falls and back, involving 4.4 miles RT with 725 feet gain.  Then we drive back to Eagle Creek Campground for a camp dinner followed by smores and camping overnight.

Sunday morning, we break camp, caravan to the Eagle Creek Trailhead and hike to Punch Bowl Falls involving 3.8 miles RT and  500 feet gain.  After the hike, we will have a picnic lunch in the Eagle Creek Picnic Area and then drive to the Horsetail Falls trailhead for the hike to Horsetail, Ponytail and Oneonta Falls and back, involving 2.6 miles RT and 320 feet gain.

On the drive home, we have the option to stop at Multnomah Falls Lodge to view Multnomah Falls and use the lodge restrooms.  A Northwest Forest Pass or National Park Pass may be required for this car camp.

Registration for the car camp is by registering for the two related day hikes, posted as Dry Creek Falls and Multnomah Falls under DAY HIKES.  Anyone registering for one of the day hikes must register for the other one and participate in the Saturday night encampment.  Compliance is monitored by requiring leader permission.
