Kayak Sailing - Session 1 - Hobuck Beach

This is the first session in a two session series. Students will learn the basics of kayak sailing in light winds, 6-11kts. This clinic does not require you to have a sail on your boat as you would borrow the instructor's if needed.

In this introductory session, instructors will cover the basic of managing the mast and sheet while paddling.

This session will cover:

  • How the sail is deployed and stowed
  • Safety issues, such as  rope management
  • Rescues and rolls
  • Sailing in all quadrants as relates to wind direction
  • How to install rigging specific to your boat
