Strokes and Maneuvers

COVID-19: Learn about our most up-to-date guidance for participants and leaders on our COVID-19 Response page. All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before participating in this Mountaineers course.

Add to the skills learned in your basic sea kayaking course to move your kayak more efficiently.  Been paddling a head strong horse?  Now increase your efficiency and make your paddle day more enjoyable.   Move your boat with ease, instead of brute force.  Clinic will include forward stroke improvement, boat control via edging, sweep strokes, bow and stern rudders, blending strokes, draws, side slips, and some bracing practice as well.  Dry suits are required. The class will take place in in the Gig Harbor area rain or shine. Bring a lunch.  This clinic is open to seasoned paddlers and basic class students (but will not count for a student paddle). Open to mountaineers members only.
