We'll meet at the trailhead at 8am on Saturday morning. It is at the end of the Dosewallips River Road near Brinnon, WA. Carpooling is encouraged.
We will hike along the Dosewallips River for 2.7 miles to Elkhorn Campground. This was a Forest Service campground before the road washed out over a decade ago. It is neat to see how nature has overtaken the campground and road. My 13 month old, who is experienced with hiking and camping, will be with us on this trip.
Once we set up camp, those who would like more adventure can hike up to the National Park, another 3.5-4 miles up the trail.
On Sunday, we will break camp in the morning and hike out to the cars. We will then stop at Rocky Brook Falls, which is an impressive sight and only a .1 mile hike from the pullout on the Dosewallips Road. Finally, for those who desire, we will have brunch at the Halfway House Restaurant in Brinnon to celebrate a fun trip!
