CHS Tacoma September Graduation Hikes - Marmot Pass

Trip will initially open to Tacoma Branch Conditioning Hiking Students. Trip will open for registration to all Mountaineers, based on availability, 7-10 days prior to date of the hike.

  • Very Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 11.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,489 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 6,000 ft
  • Pace: 1.7 to 2.0 mph

8:00am meeting time at the trailhead so hopefully all can park in the lot or near it.  This is a VERY small parking lot for a popular hike.

This is an out and back hike to Marmot Pass only. This is probably one of the more challenging graduation hikes due to constantly goin up, the elevation gain, and the length.  On a clear day, though, the view is AMAZING.

***We are not going up to Buckhorn Mount for a few reasons.  One of them is that going to Buckhorn makes the hike longer and higher in elevation than the Tacoma CHS graduation hike standard.***
