Day Hike - Lake 22

Trip will initially open to Tacoma Branch Conditioning Hiking Students. Trip will open for registration to all Mountaineers, based on availability, 7-10 days prior to date of the hike.

  • Easy
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 5.4 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,350 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 mph

Meeting will be at the Tacoma Dome parking lot, at 7:30 AM. Enter east parking garage from across  Freight-house Square, turn left upon entering and drive up to floor 4, turn right into corner where we will meet.  Long drive up to and past Granite Falls to Mountain Loop Highway, and return. Do not plan any after-hike events!  Northwest Forest parking pass required for drivers. We will be gone almost all day!

Most current WTA Trip Report indicates trail is 'moist', with snow along the route. Micro spikes or other boot traction helpful, as are also trekking poles. Extra pair dry socks should be packed and brought with you.

Again, we will likely be out all day due to driving and hiking. Please do not plan on any other activities after we return. We may stop somewhere for something to eat somewhere returning.
