UPDATE: Construction is underway to repair Fairfax Road which experienced several washouts in February, including one at the park entrance. If repairs are not completed by the date of the hike, an alternate hike will be chosen.
We will hike along the old Carbon River Road for about a mile and turn off for a quick side trip up the slope to see an old mine adit. From there we will continue on the road to a lovely view of the river valley looking upstream. Last May this hike had some amazing spring wildflowers.
