March 2021 trail update - winter storms have caused many  blowdowns along the road/trail. Be prepared to navigate over, under, or around large blowdowns if they have not been cleared by the time of the trip. Blowdowns have been cleared for about the first mile and a half to two miles.

This is a lovely trip up an abandoned road with the potential of seeing early spring wildflowers like trillium and yellow violets. We will travel up the road approximately 600 feet in elevation and 3.25 miles to a beautiful rest spot with views of the Carbon River and peaks across the river valley. Our route will include a side trip on the Old Mine Trail where there will be some short lived elevation to a fun mine adit so be sure to have your headlamp ready to look inside from the entrance.
