Practical review session for Wilderness First Aid. Responders will run through several accident simulations requiring the applications of their first aid skills, as well as group dynamics and resource management.
Individuals interested in volunteering as Patients or Evaluators should contact the trip leader.
Required Equipment
You should dress and pack as if on a Mountaineers outing at this time of year in the Cascades. (For example, if you were heading out for a two day basic glacier climb next weekend, bring that exact pack with you to the scenario session). You will need to use items from you pack to create splints, build shelters, etc.
We will be outside all evening regardless of the weather. Bring a headlamp. You should plan to be kneeling or sitting on the ground to respond to your patients. Dress accordingly.
Bring your first aid kit and we can review it if time permits.
Bring snacks and water.
