 nd alpine ice. Two-day field trip. Rainier\, Flett Glacier.\n\nThis is you
 r introduction to traveling on steep terrain\, which often includes hard s
 now and alpine ice. You will review anchors and belay methods\, review and
  practice French technique (hopefully on hard ice)\, and complete a short 
 multi-pitch ice climb. Some years there is no hard ice\, in which case pra
 ctice and climbing are on hard\, steep snow.
