A local classic! Tacoma BAC 2022 students: This is a great first rock climb for those who feel moderately to very comfortable on rock. There is some exposure (less than on other climbs such as Kangaroo Temple, but more than on some such as Slippery Slab), and there are one or two moves that could reasonably be described as 5.6.
If you are less comfortable on rock but looking to push your limits, this is a great climb; if you are already pretty comfortable on rock, The Tooth offers 3-4 fun, mellow pitches on good, chunky rock with beautiful views from the top (weather and wildfire smoke permitting!), all in an easy, accessible, one-day alpine setting. If you think of yourself as very uncomfortable on rock, it might not be the best first rock climb, but could be a great second climb for you!
Please feel free to contact the leader with any questions about this climb; please save sign-up questions for after the BAC rock field trips. Thank you.
