Meet up:

Time: 0830 at the Longmire Parking Lot, adjacent the museum.  

Great conditioner, weather and avalanche conditions permitting with possible views of Mount Rainier.  

Our goal is to get just under 3000 feet in about 2:30 hours.   Snow and trail conditions will determine our turn around point or time.

You will need a National Park Pass.

You will need tire chains to enter the park.

Carpooling is advised and you can work it out amongst yourselves.

Required Equipment

Students must carry 30 lbs. or more of pack weight. Packs will be weighed at the trailhead start.

Lunch, 10 essentials, appropriate  clothing for the weather and conditions, good sturdy boots and a great attitude.

Additionally you will need snowshoes, poles and traction devices (crampons).  Let me know if you don't have snowshoes or a way to get them and I will try and help you out.

Successful completion is defined as the ability to carry a pack weighing 30 or more pounds, at a sustained rate of about 1520 ft/hour for 2 hours.
