University of Washington Predator Ecology Lab: Snow Leopards

Snow leopards, ibex, wolves, argali... and people. Join our guest speaker from the University of Washington's Predator Ecology Lab to learn more the complex relationships among wildlife and humans in Central Asia.

Shannon Kachel is a PhD student in the Predator Ecology Lab at the University of Washington, working in close collaboration with Panthera, an NGO committed to the study and conservation of wild felids around the world. A graduate of the Basic Climbing Course, he has put his experience with the Mountaineers to work studying the ecology and conservation of snow leopards and wolves in the high mountains of Central Asia since 2012. 

His talk is:
"Ghost of the Mountains: Predator-Prey Ecology and Conservation in the High Mountains of Central Asia."
