Laura Swapp: Lessons learned from REI diversity initiatives

Laura Swapp from REI will come discuss their journey into creating a culture of inclusion and diversity, both internally and with respect to their external marketing to customers. The Mountaineers is looking to benefit from "lessons learned" at REI when trying to ensure that the outdoor experience is welcoming to people of any and all backgrounds or affiliations.

As part of an ongoing effort to ensure that every aspect of Mountaineers programs embody our values of inclusion and diversity, we have invited REI's Laura Swapp to come discuss their efforts, successes, and failures with us as we embark on a similar path. Started at the staff level, with a view towards internal efforts we could make, this is an opportunity for volunteer leaders in our board and branch administration to join us  so that we can promote these efforts throughout the entire organization.

In order to ensure a discussion-friendly atmosphere, attendance is being limited to 30 people (including staff). Please RSVP here so we can plan for your attendance.
