CANCELED - Fundamentals of Outdoor Leadership Seminar

This one day interactive workshop will introduce current and prospective leaders to the fundamental interpersonal leadership skills needed to lead successful outdoor trips.

This  seminar is not activity specific but rather focus on the fundamental skills that all outdoor leaders  need to  build and maintain relationships.

By the end of the seminar, participants will leave with a clear understanding of themselves as leaders (how they lead, prefer to communicate, handle conflict, assess risk, make decisions) and have a game plan for how to lead others.

The topics (listed below) will be presented through a mixture of lecture, activities, role plays, and group discussions.  There is no better way to master a skill, than to practice the skill, so come prepared to practice and engage.

We'll cover the following topics:
  • Leadership Styles and Behavior
  • Communication Skills and Setting expectation
  • Risk Assessment and Decision making
