This past summer, Richard Kresser and Gavin Woody traversed the twelve named peaks in the Tatoosh Range near Mount Rainier, setting a Fastest Known Time of 13.5 hours...and then ran back to their starting point along the Wonderland Trail for a total of 28 miles and over 12,000 feet of gain. Except for the 8 miles of the Wonderland, 90% was off-trail -- slick snow, nasty scree, spicy scrambling, and some respectable bushwhacking. They scrambled Stevens, Border, Foss, Pinnacle, Plummer, Denman, Lane, Wahpenayo, Chutla, and Eagle Peak, and roped up for Unicorn and Castle. They'll discuss their route selection, time-of-year considerations, the lightweight gear they used, and their favorite post-adventure beer.
Come join us! Have a drink and marvel at the speed of Gavin and Richard's traverse!
