Seattle Pathfinders & Nomads Snowshoe - Paradise

Pathfinders and Nomads will spend the day snowshoeing and playing in the snow!

  • Easy, Easy/Moderate
  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)
  • Elevation Gain: 500 ft
  • 8:45AM: Meet at Longmire at Mt. Rainier
  • Return Saturday evening

Join the Pathfinders and Nomads for a day of snowshoeing and playing (and maybe a snowball or two!).

Borrowing Gear??

  • Snowshoes or Trekking Poles: Let Katy know by March 1
  • Other gear (see Required Equipment tab): Let the gear library know by March 1

Required Equipment

  • Snowshoes (can borrow from Mountaineers)
  • Snowshoe poles
  • Boots* (insulated and waterproof)
  • Gaiters
  • Warm clothing and extra synthetic layers
  • Long underwear top and bottom (synthetic)
  • Wool or synthetic socks
  • Liner socks (optional, but recommended)
  • Fleece or wool sweater
  • Waterproof shell (jacket and pants, breathable with hood on jacket)
  • Waterproof gloves*
  • Liner gloves
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Stocking hat (wool or synthetic)
  • Brimmed cap
  • Water bottles (at least 2L)
  • Lunch
  • Day pack (small backpack with hip belt preferred)
  • Van shoes
  • Camera (optional)

Borrowing Snowshoes: please let Katy know by March 1.

Borrowing other gear: please submit your request to the gear library by February 25.
