Rainier - Summer Camp - Mountaineers on Mount Rainier - 2017

Youth Program

Summer Camp - Mount Rainier Camping

Join the Mountaineers for a 3 day camp out at Mount Rainier!

Join the Mountaineers for a 3 day camping adventure to Mount Rainier. Lets celebrate America’s birthday by enjoying one of the things that make us awesome, National Parks like Mount Rainier!  In this unique 3 day camp we will be traveling up to Mt. Rainier, camping out under it’s looming gaze and practicing our mountaineering skills.  This camp is open to kids ages 10 and up and includes transportation, food, and skills lessons up on the mountain.

Campers arrive Wednesday morning at 9:00 am sharp to prep all our gear and pack it all up. After a quick lunch we will be on our way to Rainier.  Once camp is all set up we will have time for some adventuring before dinner.  Our evening will be filled with campfire, stargazing, songs and scary stories (but not too scary) of course!

Thursday is filled with hiking and mountaineering skills. Half the group will head up to Camp Muir to practice snow skills up on the snowfield while the other half does a 5 mile loop around Paradise Meadow.  After our long day we will make a hearty dinner and quickly fall asleep.

Friday begins with a big breakfast, camp cleanup and short skills session before we all hop back into the car to head back to the Mountaineers in Seattle.  We will arrive back around 4 with time to share our stoke with our families and get some climbing in.  We are so excited to share this new adventure with you!
