Seattle MAC - Skills Practice Night

Youth activity: Mountaineers Adventure Club

Seattle MAC - Skills Practice Night - Mountaineers Seattle Program Center

A monthly opportunity for MAC students to come to the climbing wall at The Mountaineers to practice skills like belaying, lead belaying, lead climbing, cleaning routes, rappelling, climbing technique, etc. The focus of the skills practice night will match the skills workshop for the month.

  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)

6:30pm to 8:30pm in Goodman C or South Plaza

Can be counted as one of the 2 minimum required glacier skills workshops in case you weren't able to make the other ones. Email in advance to make a request for glacier skills coverage.

RE: Glacier skills workshops:

Attendance at these (enough of them to be judged competent by leaders) is required for the snow skills field trip and glacier climbs. A minimum of 2. Mileage may vary between members, therefore attendance at 2 glacier skills workshops does not guarantee admittance to snow field trips or glacier climbs. To go on those trips, one has to have a solid understanding of the different parts and ready to put them all together in a challenging environment. You will be evaluated based on those criteria, not specifically the number of workshops you attended.
