Prerequisites: At least 2 years of in-bounds skiing experience and ability to ski black diamond runs (not necessarily in good style) in any conditions. You must be able to get down the hill.
Use the "request leader's permission" to describe your skiing experience and confirm you have acquired touring gear
Students will either need to have their own AT kit or rent one. You can rent touring skis/bindings and boots from:
- ProSki in North Bend or Seattle
- Evo in Seattle.

Required Equipment
- layers
- go light, you're working a lot harder skiing uphill than riding a chairlift
- wicking base layer, non-cotton
- lightweight mid-layers
- softshell or hardshell ski pants
- softshell or hardshell jacket
- insulating layer (synthetic down is best)
- liner gloves
- shell gloves
- beanie, balaclava, buff, etc.
- skis
- skis mounted with touring bindings (alpine touring binds are different than downhill ski bindings)
- touring boots
- poles
- helmet
- goggles
- mid-size day pack (30-40l)
- headlamp
- water, snacks
- 10 essentials
