Seattle MAC - Crevasse Rescue Skills Practice Night

Youth activity: Mountaineers Adventure Club

Seattle MAC - Crevasse Rescue Skills Practice Night - Mountaineers Seattle Program Center

An evening practice session focusing on crevasse rescue & raising systems, to complement our full day crevasse rescue workshops. This skills workshop has prerequisites, see leader's notes for details. 6-8:30pm

  • Moderate

Mountaineers Program Center basement, 6-8:30pm.

Like the general skills practice night, these practice sessions will not feature a full-on instructional on crevasse rescue. Students should have a working understanding of the systems and come here to clean things up with the help from fellow students, staff, or volunteers. These can not be used as a makeup for the crevasse rescue workshop.

These practice nights are intended to supplement the full-day crevasse rescue workshops. This is a complex skill that MAC students should practice as frequently as possible. These practice sessions are a great venue for getting that practice in.

Prerequisites: Attendance at 2 of the glacier skills practice nights and a crevasse rescue workshop. Attendance at a minimum of 2 of these workshops is a prerequisite for the snow 1 and snow 2 field trips.
