Seattle MAC - Climbing Trip - Smith Rock

Spring break climbing trip! This trip will be available to half of the students in MAC. Another 4 day climbing trip will take place over Memorial Day weekend which the other half of the students will be able to come on, in order to keep group sizes and leader recruitment manageable.

Leave early Sunday am, or Saturday PM, depending on availability and destination. Return late late Wednesday. 

Participants must have attended at least two lead climbing workshops and have passed the lead climbing test / received their lead climbing badge. Exceptions will be made for kick-off trips early in the year where new members with limited climbing experience will be welcomed.

  • Climbing shoes
  • Harness that fits over the clothing you climb in
  • Helmet
  • Backpack or bag that holds all of your gear
  • Small duffel bag for overnight gear
  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad
  • Pack cover or plastic bag for water repellence
  • Wool/synthetic socks (minimum of three pairs)
  • Boots (worn in with sturdy tread, seams, and laces)
  • Shorts (synthetic)
  • T-shirt (avoid cotton and save one for the ride home)
