Required Equipment

We have hardware and harnesses for them to borrow, but they will need to rent or purchase the following for the field trip and any canyons we do:

·         Minimum 3-4-5 wetsuit (can be rented at https://urbansurf.com/pages/rentals)

·         Minimum 3mm neoprene socks (better 4 or 5mm)

·         Shoes – Canyon Shoes are definitely ideal, but any vibram or stealth-soled close-toed shoe will do. It’s important that whatever shoes they have are sized to accommodate their neoprene socks (if they get 3mm socks, they can put wool socks underneath or over top for added warmth), and that they understand these shoes will be wet all day and will get pretty trashed. I have a very small selection of canyon shoes that I’m happy to loan if the sizes match. If any of them are thinking of purchasing canyon shoes, they should know that unless the link I put above has their size (what’s currently available are larger sizes), they will need to order from Europe, and that can take up to 4 weeks depending on how quickly things move through customs. If they do want to purchase shoes, I’m happy to help navigate. Getting canyoning gear in general is an art because very little of it is available in the US.
