Seattle MAC - Backpacking Trip - Snowgrass Flat & Goat Lake Basin

Revised Itinerary due to fires in Washington Pass: Snowgrass Flats 3 day/2 night trip. Considered by some to be among the most scenic backpacking trips in Washington State, multiple options for day trips from base camp at either Snowgrass or Cispus Basin to Goat Lake/Hawkeye Point and/or Old Snowy Mountain.

TBD. Anticipate early start from Seattle Sunday, 8/22.

Gaia GPS route to Snowgrass Flats with various daytrip options.

Day 1: Drive from Seattle. Snowgrass TH to Alpine Camp 4.3 mile/1675 elevation gain.

Day 2: Day trip to Goat Lake/Hawkeye Point (7.5 miles RT/1900 elevation gain). Or day trip along PCT to  Old Snowy Mountain or Cispus Pass.

Day 3: Hike out/return to Seattle. 

Prerequisites: Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course/badge preferred. Attendance at at least 1 MAC hike throughout the year prior to backpack trip.

Students must have demonstrated fitness throughout other MAC activities and may be asked to answer certain questions to give the leader an idea of their fitness/ability/experience level.  Participants will be chosen at the trip leaders discretion and the above are minimum requirements which do not guarantee a space on the trip.
