Seattle MAC - Backcountry Ski Trip - Snoqualmie Summit East
An intro to backcountry skiing half day for MAC students who have never done any backcountry skiing / touring / skinning. No prior BC experience required, but there are still prerequisites. See leader's notes for details.

Summit East base area, 1pm. We will wrap up around dusk, approximately 5-6pm.
Mandatory pre trip meeting": Tuesday 3/9 @ 5pm

Backcountry skiing or snowboarding is a great way to enjoy the mountains in the wintertime! Skin up a mountain with us, then enjoy some incredible skiing or snowboarding downhill!
This is an advanced trip. Please read the requirements carefully before signing up!
NOTE: Students will not be able to register for this until they've actually finished the NIKO Course, but if they plan to complete the NIKO course, they can be sure they can join this trip. Register upon receipt of your NIKO course badge, when the final classroom session concludes on Feb 9th.
Prerequisites: At least 2 years of in-bounds skiing experience and ability to ski black diamond runs (not necessarily in good style) in any conditions. You must be able to get down the hill.
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course completed / badge.
NIKO course completed / badge.
Students will either need to have their own AT kit or rent one.
