Seattle MAC - Snowshoeing Trip - Baker Lodge

The Mountaineers Adventure Club heads to Mt Baker to snowshoe and learn about avalanche awareness and safety with an NWAC educator!

Meet at The Mountaineers at 6 am. We will depart by 6:30 to arrive at Baker Lodge by 10 am.

Leaving Baker between 1 and 2 pm with an arrival back at the program center between 4 and 5 pm

NWAC Snowshoeing at Mt Baker - January 7th, 2017

Lead by Hank Halfaker

Purpose: To learn about avalanche safety and have a good day snowshoeing.

Chaperones/Instructors/Drivers: Josh Gannis, Amy Lyman

Note: We still need drivers, if your parent can drive please contact Emily ASAP!


  • 6:00 am – Meet at The Mountaineers
  • 6:30 am – Depart for Baker
  • 10 am – Arrive at Baker Lodge
  • 10:30-12:30 – Programming and Snowshoe led by NWAC Instructor
  • Depart Mt Baker between 1 and 2 pm
  • Arrive back at The Mountaineers between 4 and 5 pm (Some folks may stop to grab dinner)

Gear to Bring

  • *waterproof tops and bottoms
  • *Layers that are non-cotton, and warm
  • *Daypack
  • *lunch
  • *Sunglasses
  • *Chapstick
  • *Sunscreen
  • *Two Filled Water Bottles
  • *Gloves
  • *Warm Hat
  • *Good boots for snow
  • *Gaiters (optional)
  • Snowshoeing Equipment (can be borrowed from the mountaineers)
