Advanced Backcountry Ski/Snowboard in the wilderness that involves skiing uphill with skins and then skiing down!

A mandatory planning meeting will be on Wednesday Jan 31st at 7:00pm in the Summit room at the Mountaineers. 

Backcountry skiing or snowboarding is a great way to enjoy the mountains in the wintertime! Skin up a mountain with us, then enjoy some incredible skiing downhill!

This is an advanced trip. Please read the requirements carefully before signing up!

Requirements: At least 1 year of skiing experience. No back country experience necessary, but you should be a competent skier. 

Ability to ski blue slopes in any conditions or black diamonds in "reasonable" conditions

Ability to "survival ski" meaning you should be able, one way or the other, to get down anything you go up, even if it's not pretty. 

Questions to Answer:

What resort do you normally ski at?

How often do you go skiing?

What runs do you feel most comfortable on? 

Have you taken an avalanche, navigation or first aid class?
