Seattle Explorers Camping & Climbing Trip - McCleary Cliffs

Join us for crag climbing and camping on the Olympic Peninsula!

  • Crag Rock Climb
  • Casual

We will meet at Potlach State Park campground at 10:00am on Saturday.

21020 N. US Highway 101, Shelton, WA 98584

This will be a weekend of exploring - a new crag for Seattle Explorers, and a beautiful area on the eastern Olympic Peninsula.  It is also shoulder season, so weather is unpredictable and campsites are not reservable.  Bring your flexible and open explorer mindset!

Saturday we will set up camp  and explore the area, with options for day hikes nearby  as well as the beach on the Hood Canal at Potlatch.  Sunday we will pack up camp early and head to the crag for a day of climbing.

  • Trip Sheet: Linked here.
  • Parking: No pass needed for parking at the crag.
  • Weather: NOAA forecast
  • Guests: If spots are still available one week prior to the trip, email the trip leader to request that a friend or sibling be able to join.

If you'd like to borrow non-climbing gear, please submit your request to the gear library.
