After School - Pathfinders - Climbing Adventures

Join us for Seattle Mountaineers After-school Programs! We’ll spend our time together climbing, developing our skills, and learning all about the history of climbing!

Are you ready to climb? Ready to learn outdoor skills, brush up on your climbing know-how, and spend time with a small group of young mountaineers after school...are you ready to ROCK? Then this After-school Program is for you! 

Youth aged 6-9 are invited to join The Mountaineers for a six week program packed with climbing, games and songs, and a heavy dose of outdoor adventure. For six consecutive Tuesdays, participants will join us at The Mountaineers Program Center in Magnuson Park to develop climbing skills and socialize with other adventurous kiddos while taking a much needed break from screens! 

During the Climbing Adventures After-school Program, youth will have the opportunity to try a variety of climbing techniques including bouldering, and rappelling. Activities will be conducted inside with COVID-19 precautions in place. Groups will consist of ten youth, two instructors, and will adhere to all Washington State and Mountaineers COVID-19 protocols and procedures. 

Logistics: 

  • Registration opens November 1st 
  • This course runs every Tuesday from 4:00-6:00 pm for six weeks
  • Drop off from 3:45-4:00 pm 
  • Pick up from 5:45-6:00 pm

When you register, you’ll fill out youth paperwork online. This can be done through your child’s account or when registering for a course.

All participants should bring: 

  • Mask and hand sanitizer
  • Full water bottles (two suggested) 
  • A snack
  • Extra clothing layers (weather dependent) 
  • Close-toed shoes 
  • An awesome outdoor attitude!
