After-School - Trailblazers - Campcraft 101 - Seattle - 2020

Youth Program

After-School - Trailblazers - Campcraft 101

Dive into camping and outdoor survival skills with us! Learn all about tent set up, backcountry cooking, shelter building, and much more!

What would you do if you were lost in the woods? Could you find your way home using a map and compass? Could you build a fire and shelter? Would you have the 10 essentials in your pack? Join this after-school program to hone these skills and more!

Youth aged 11-13 are invited to join The Mountaineers for a three week program packed with shelter building, fire starting, and a heavy dose of outdoor adventure. For three consecutive Thursdays, participants will join us at The Mountaineers Program Center in Magnuson Park to develop outdoor survival skills and socialize with other adventurous kiddos while taking a much needed break from screens!

During the Campcraft 101 After-school Program, youth will have the opportunity to practice their fire building, navigation, and shelter construction skills, among others. Learn about outdoor safety and survival with us. Activities will be conducted outside as much as possible. Groups will consist of seven youth, one instructor, and will adhere to all Washington State and Mountaineers covid-19 protocols and procedures.
