Skate skiing is a fast and exhilarating form of Nordic skiing!
This three-week course is designed for novice or beginning skate skiers. It is taught by knowledgeable and friendly PSIA-certified instructors on groomed trails. You will learn basic skating technique and movement patterns to get you gliding effortlessly down the trail.
Prerequisites: Previous skiing experience - either XC or alpine - will help facilitate a fast-track learning experience. Potential participants without previous skiing experience are encouraged to complete the Introduction to Cross Country class.
When:
- January 6, 12:30-2:30 pm
- January 13, 12:30-2:30 pm
- January 27, 12:30-2:30 pm
If one of the field trips needs to be cancelled due to poor conditions, there is a make up class scheduled on February 2 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Classes are held at the Sno Parks, east of Snoqualmie Pass. (See the required equipment list for a link to purchase the required groomed snow-park permit.)
Cancellations after January 1 will incur a $30 fee.

- Skate skis, boots & poles
- Clothing suitable for aerobic winter activities
- Groomed sno-park permit - one per vehicle
- Optional: fanny pack or small hydration pack with water and snacks
