Meet at Waterway 18 park for a 2:00pm launch.  Estimate 2 hours of paddling, we should be back to cars by 4:00pm

Waterway 18 is just south of the Sunnyside boat ramp.  Parking is generally available on the gravel strip on the NW side of N Northlake Way.  Waterway 18 is about 1/2 mile NE of Gasworks Park.

This is part of the conditioning series: an opportunity to get out and paddle, improve strength and endurance, and practice your forward stroke.  

We will paddle around Lake Union and Portage bay for a distance of about 6 nm.

Expect to hold a steady paddling pace for most of the trip with several break to relax and chat.  

We will target a pace of about 3.6 knots.  This is a moderate pace which most people should be able to keep.  If you don't know your pace, that's OK.  This is the first in the series and we are figuring things out.
