We will meet at Northwest Outdoor Center at 8:45 am. Please call them at 206-281-9694 to reserve your kayak and dry suit.
This trip is intended for Basic Course students who missed their Open Water sessions, which is required prior to starting their student paddles required for course graduation.
We will practice rescues and introduce strokes.
Open to Mountaineers who have graduated from the Basic Sea Kayaking Course and would like a refresher.

Required Equipment
The kayaking essentials (see below) plus the Ten Essentials. Additional equipment may be required by the leader - please check the Leader's notes for additional information!
- Flotation in both ends of the kayak
- U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
- Paddle
- Spray skirt
- Bilge pump with flotation
- Self-rescue paddle float
- Waterproof whistle
- Appropriate clothing and immersion wear for the conditions
