Depart from Wildcat Cove  at Larrabee State Park and head north to Chuckanut Bay on Saturday July  9 by 11am. One night camping at Lummi Island Cascade Marine Trail Site. 

This route is subject to change if the weather forecast is for wind greater then 12 knot or waves greater then  2 feet.

There will be a required pre-trip planning zoom meeting on Jun 30. More details to come.

GOALS

Provide instruction in:

    • Trip planning and logistics
    • Sea kayak camping gear and techniques
  • Create opportunity for people to learn through experience
  • Create a safe learning environment.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Participants hold goals compatible with the class goals
  • Participants will attend the pre-trip planning meetings and the whole trip
  • Participants will participate in creating a safe learning environment.
  • Participants are able to paddle  in winds to 12kt, waves to 2ft. 
  • Participants are able to paddle  11nm a day and sustain a steady pace of 2.5kt per hour.
