FLOW - Fun and Learning on the Water - Lake Washington: Concrete Beach

Wednesday Evening Roll Up - Practice your flat water rolls to tune up your skills.

  • Sea Kayak I/II
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 2.0 nm
  • Maximum Wind: 20 kts
  • Maximum Waves: 3 ft
  • Pace: 3.5nm

Meet at Concrete Beach, down hill from the Seattle Mountaineers at 5:30pm to launch about 6:00pm.

The purpose of this evening outing is to spend some time practicing our fresh water roll to gain confidence.  We'll stay near the beach or paddle to the shallows off Mathew Beach.  Be prepared to do many rolls.  We'll give advise to help make rolls smoother and more reliable.  Bring some roll variations to try.

People participating in the Rolling in Dynamic Water the following Saturday will benefit from some recent, confidence building practice.

Given we may still need to practice physical distancing, this is not suitable for people who need support to roll.  You'll enjoy this evening most if you can roll successfully most of the time or easily self rescue when you miss the roll.
