The goal is to stay just off shore for practicing rescues and rolls of all types in wind and waves. There is a long fetch ending at east beach when the prevailing west wind is blowing. This creates waves and wind that push paddlers back to shore, making it a safe place to stretch your usual comfort zone. There will be boat control games as well if there's time and energy for them. The activity will not cancel if conditions are less than desired. This is not a class and there are no designated instructors, however, we will be supportive of each other's practice and encourage each other to try new things. Please plan on staying with the group for the entire event. We may do a short paddle if all are in favor after we practice.
We will meet at East Beach at 9:30 AM with launching at will after a breif shore talk.
