  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)
  • Mileage: 3.0 nm

Meet at NWOC (Northwest Outdoor Center) on Lake Union at 8:30 for a 9:30 launch.  We planning to be off the water by 3 pm

The Basic Strokes and Maneuvers - Next Steps clinic is designed to assist kayaker who have completed the open water activity and at least one student paddle at improving strokes and maneuvers. It will review the key points of the forward and reverse strokes, sweeps, braces and draws, including the use of edging in different aspects of kayak maneuvering. We will also practice these skills on a short paddle.

The trip will launch from the NWOC (Northwest Outdoor Center) dock, so you can rent or  bring your own kayak and/or gear.  If you need to rent a kayak and/or immersion wear, you need to contact NWOC ahead of the trip to arrange for rentals.  Parking free on Sundays.

Priority will be given to students of the Basic Sea Kayaking course.  We will add others if there is room after June 22.
