  • CHANGE OF VENUE:  MEET AT CONCRETE BEACH, DOWN THE HILL FROM THE SEATTLE MOUNTAINEER'S BUILDING, NEAR ARENA SPORTS.   
  • 0800 - 1400
  • See required equipment. Note: Helmet required (bike helmet ok), towline suggested.
  • Bring lunch and fluids and your normal extra gear for a day paddle.

Interested in developing your safety awareness and rescue skills?  Would you like a hands-on, wet experience in towing techniques, rescue romps, kayak chaos and ways to avoid the chilling effects of hypothermia?  This event is dedicated to learning and practicing safe responses to sea kayaking situations when things don't go quite as planned.  All this presented in a full day of on-the-water scenarios.  Prizes for all.  Beginners are welcome!

  • Kayak and complete kayak kit (all the required items PLUS whatever you'd normally bring for a full day on the water.
  • Towline
  • DrySuit is recommended.  Wetsuit ok with user's understanding that we WILL be wet!
  • Lunch & fluids
