Plan to meet at Concrete Beach at 8:00 am. There will be volunteers on site to assist with registration and preparation for the open water session. We should be finished at 4.30pm.
Leader Notes: This activity is only open to individuals who register for the Seattle Sea Kayaking Basics course. If you are enrolled in this course, you must also register for Water Day Instruction. The session runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Be prepared to get wet and have fun!
Kayak and/or dry suit can be rented from Kayak Academy Rentals
Required Equipment
- Kayak with perimeter lines
- Flotation in both ends of the kayak
- PFD (USCG approved)
- Paddle
- Spray skirt
- Bilge pump with flotation
- Self-rescue paddle float
- Waterproof whistle or air
- Dry suit
Nice to have:
- Neoprene booties

- Goggles
