Winter Photography - Mazama Ridge

This winter photography trip will focus on exploring and photographing the area around Sluiskin Falls and Mazama Ridge starting from Paradise at Mt. Rainier. If weather conditions are poor leading up to the day of the trip, I may push the trip out a week at a time until we have decent enough light to make the trip worthwhile.

We will be meeting at 9:00am in Longmire in the parking area next to the Longmire museum.  We can carpool from there.  I drive a silver NISSAN Frontier with a matching silver canopy.  I will put out a tripod so I am easier to find.  Chains may be required to go to Paradise (sometimes even with all-wheel drive) so please arrive early incase we need to chain up.

The plan is to snowshoe along the creek leading to Sluiskin falls.  We will then snowshoe back down from the falls and over Mazama Ridge to the back side of the ridge including the falls area.  This is a beautiful place summer or winter, but winter offers some unique photographic opportunities (not the least being that you can only get this close to the falls in winter when there is snow on the ground).
