  • Headshots.

Most of the class is instructor-demonstrations.  The final segment allows for students to try out various accessories, lenses, lighting aids, and get help with smartphone photo editing.

This 4-hour class (including breaks) is in five parts:

  1. Smartphone Camera Unique Strengths and Limitations (20 minutes)
  2. Smartphone Photography Fundamentals (35 minutes)
  3. Indoor Scenarios (45 minutes)
  4. Outdoor Scenarios (45 minutes)
  5. Hands-on Practice (1 hour)

Prerequisites

Download the SnapSeed app to your phone before class.

If you have taken at least several dozen photographs with your smartphone camera, and emailed or posted them online, then you’ll likely enjoy and benefit considerably from the class.  If you are an intermediate or advanced photographer (with any type of camera) who is familiar with manual mode, the exposure triangle, depth of field, dynamic range, etc., then you may find portions of  the class a bit slow paced or shallow for your needs.
